In Love With New Dolls!

My newest little girl doll.

My newest little girl doll.

Meet Rowan, she is my newest doll. She is 12″ tall, a Gotz Just Like Me doll from 2010. She was languishing on the shelf at TK Maxx, amid a group of inferior dolls! I have an 18″ Julia doll that is a Gotz and they are just really well made, lovely dolls! Julia is the same size as the popular American Girl dolls, in fact, Gotz used to make the American Girls for the Pleasant Company, before it was sold out to Mattel.

I had no intention of getting yet another sized doll, or even getting into these little girl dolls, but never say never! I still love my fashion dolls and have expanded them a little bit as well!

But this blog post is all about Rowan! I’m really enjoying her, this is the first dress I made her, those jeans were just too hot in this heatwave we are having! I also made matching knickers and those little sock looking shoes. Since then I have found some shoes for her and have even more of them on the way from the US!

And this is the newest dress I made, out of cotton yarn. And she has her new Gotz shoes on. They came with a white handbag with bright pink trim, so obviously she couldn’t use it with this outfit! She also got a pair of sweet pink Croc style clogs. Also made by Gotz. And there are more shoes on the way from a friend in the US…So I must get these knitting needles busy!

Of course, now I want another of these dolls! If I am to go to the trouble to source shoes and make tons of clothes, then there should be at least two of them…I already have one in mind, her name is Lily! Maybe next month!
